Factors which determine the direction of water movement:
- there are the three factors which determine the movement of water from the soil , between the plant’s cell, than from the roots of the plant to the leaves and than from leaves into the air:
- concentration
- gravity
- pressure
How water flow in the plant take place in the upward direction:
Gravity:
- however gravity causes water to move in the downward direction but an equal amount of force oppose it and makes its direction to the upward.
pressure:
- because of the pressure the movement of water is from the region of high water pressure to the region of low water pressure.
- its example includes; garden hose, straw and movement of water through the xylem of the plant
